Midnight Moon
He sits and stares at the midnight moon
He watches to see if she's there
He knows she'll come to him soon
He'll wait forever, he doesn't care.
He's faithful and loyal and watches till dawn
She promised she'd see him tomorrow
But tomorrow came and she's still gone
So each night he howls at the moon in his sorrow.
You can hear his cry all thru the night
From the forest up to the sky
He calls her with all of his heart and all of his might
But she's gone and can't hear his cry.
He can't understand why she left him alone
What happened to make her just go?
Her reasons might never be known
But he waits 'cause he still loves her so.
If only he knew that she also cried
And stares at the same moon above
She wanted forever to stay at his side
But she felt she was losing his love.
So night after night two lovers are lonely
They sit and they stare at the moon
She cries and wonders if he still loves her only
While he wonders if she'll come to him soon.
