The Road Back

What a long and winding road

It seems to never end

Sometime I have to wonder

If I can make it back again.

The days are passing slowly

The time just drifting by

But I'm traveling down this road once more

To get to "you and I."

I thought this road was far behind me

I found a place to stay

But somehow as I stopped to rest

Once again I lost my way.

The daylight isn't bad to travel

But nights are dark and lonely

I whisper to the moon above me

Please, let him know I love him only.

My nights are spent in fear and doubts

In the darkness I can hear a wolf howl

Though more than miles are still between us

I know I'll make it back somehow.

Just knowing you still love me

And your heart is with me on my way

Makes the road back that much easier

And keeps me going every day.

So darling, please remember

My love for you is true

This road is long and winding

But it still leads back to you.
